Polyester Wire Center Halyard

This polyester wire-center halyard is designed for use on external-halyard flagpoles that require added strength, reduced stretch, and resistance to wear. The internal wire core provides durability, while the polyester jacket offers weather resistance for long-term outdoor use.

If you’d like to order a full spool instead of cut-to-length:

Important Performance & Use Notes

Breaking strength for all three wire-core halyard thicknesses is only as strong as the internal wire, which is rated at 900 lbs.
For comparison, the He-Man Halyard is significantly stronger.

Wire-core halyard is NOT stronger than the double-braid polyester He-Man Halyard.

Personally, we prefer non–wire core halyard. It’s much easier to work with. Some flagpole systems do require wire-core rope, and some customers simply prefer it, but wire-core halyard is more difficult to handle than standard polyester rope.

We sell wire-core halyard because some flagpoles require it, and sometimes customers are simply told to use it.
